So I got a response to my inquiry at the help desk. Although I don't think it's much of a response.

Thank you for your enquiry, please read the following faq:

FAQ #284: Does deviantART prohibit certain types of content?

Scars would also be disallowed under this ruling. Thank you.

Does it smell like bullshit to anyone else? They didn't even respond to me asking "if I state in the picture that it's all fake, can I keep it?" Do I have to go back now and remove my scars from all my pictures now too? What if that scar came from falling off a bike or something?

I'm considering leaving DA now. This is beyond stupid. Not only did they remove a picture without a real explaination, but now I'm being treated like some stupid worthless member. And I made sure to ask them why ©suzi9mm's work is still all up when it violates the policy too? They ignored that question completely. It truly appears to be a double standard.

I did a search on DA for "suicide." Over 42 thousand results. I did a search for "cutting." Over 15,000 results. Just the first page was filled with self mutiliation, cuts, scars, blood... DA if you're going to censor me, you need to get your act together and censor all the others too.

`aleksandra is going through something similar with the deletion of one of her images too.

Bullshit with a side order of piss, is more like it darling. Ive been dealing w/all kinds of censorship issues since I came to DA. I think most of them stem from pissy people complaining, that’s about the only motivation for the admins around here. Sort of like pouring salt on a slug or in this case pouring salt on someone with the brain power of a slug.

DA deleted one of my pictures and gave me a poor reason why. When I questioned it and told them about the picture, the response they gave me was again poor. There's more about the situation in my last journal.

they've always been a pain about stuff like that. it seems like they have a quota for deletions and randomly delete things to catch up to that quota every month. hehe.

but it's hard for them to keep up with everything so i'd just do what you want anyway. don't go out of your way to eliminate scars in past submissions. i've seen them allow real ones before. just do what you do best and just let them try to keep up with you. :D

It was called "cut" however it wasn't about cutting. The description talked about being emotionally cut by the ones you love. And so I put fake scars on my arms in the picture. Appearantly, fake or not, it still got deleted. And yet there are so many other pictures here on DA with cuts, scars, tons of blood, and I don't see them getting deleted. It's a cruel double standard.

Yeah I've got quite a few pictures in my gallery that have my scars in them because I don't feel the need to clone them out. And heck, I did a search on DA for "cutting" and got 15,000 results. I did a search for "suicide" and got 42 thousand. Most of them were self mutilation. Real cuts, fake cuts, blood. I believe if they're going to delete my picture, they need to delete the others too.
