"Geisha are artists, first and foremost. Art, (gei) defines their proffesion and place in Japanese socitey. In fact, the word geisha means, "Artist" or, "Beauty person."
To put it shortly, geisha are artists who use themselves as the canvas." Resource
When I stumbled upon this definition, it had me thinking of myself and my art and inspired this piece. I too am an artist who often uses herself as the canvas.
No white skin tone cuz I wanted color. It looked bad with so much white.

Now it's time for August 2008 Visual Art Features, many new art to discover!
Don't forget that many artists need to be viewed, they deserve it! Fave Fave Fave! My main purpose in doing a monthly feature about (to my point of view) 'the best visual art' is to put in the same level as well wellknown artists and popular creations as unknown artists and under-exposed creations. Artists need to be supported. So don't be shy!
