Out of all the pictures that were sent to me during my search for a good stock photo of a girl, I came across some pictures from one girl that really hit me as emotional. In fact just looking at them, I felt like I was seeing into her heart. Seeing her hopes and fears. And I immediately started working on a photo manip of it. The concept: Leave behind society's resrictions on beauty and see the true beauty inside yourself. You can see the darkness behind her and the light in front of her. I tried to bring out the way I saw her after speaking with her. I admire her for her courage to take self portraits of herself inspite of feeling unpretty and entrusting me with them. I don't know if people get the kind of emotional obstacles that must be overcome in order to post a self portrait and putting yourself up there to be analyzed and picked apart. - I'm proud of all the women who faced their own self images and sent me photos to work on. I thank all of you who participated. I plan on still toying with a few and emailing you with the finished product before posting them. I admire you all and you are all very beautiful women. Your hearts and your faces both. Model: *fearawaken Stocks: morguefile.com and myself Done in: Photoshop 7 Listened to "Beautiful" because it just fit the mood perfectly. Copyright 2005 kedralynn.
