Battered

You always thought you were too smart for it to happen to you. And now you're broken and alone. How'd you get to such a place? Why does he control you? And why are you still making up excuses?

I'm in a mood, as you can tell. I thought I'd do something productive with it. And some of you know that due to life's events, speaking out against domestic violence is one of the causes near and dear to my heart. I worry that if I find myself a victim, I won't have the courage to do something about it.

Don't be alone. Don't lie about it. Don't hide it. Don't let it continue.
